From an early age, I was captivated by my surroundings. While others hurried forward, I was the one pausing to take it all in—not to smell the roses, exactly, but to study the buildings, the streets, and the spaces in between. I was drawn to the details and differences, always comparing one place to another, fascinated by how the built environment could feel both familiar and entirely new.
These observations quickly turned into acts of making. I’d recreate what I saw using whatever was at hand—arches from stacked plastic cups, cantilevers from leaves and twigs. I didn’t yet have the language for what I was doing, but I knew I was chasing something meaningful. Every Lego structure and backyard excavation was a step toward discovery.
I now understand that what I was doing was more than play—it was the foundation of a lifelong pursuit. That early curiosity has evolved into a deep commitment to architecture, a discipline where observation becomes intention, and imagination is made tangible.
